Annual CPSA District Chapter 214 Workshop
LANDSCAPE TEXTURES AND TECHNIQUES
DENISE HOWARD, CPSA, CPX, UKCPS, MPAS
Have you ever wanted to paint a landscape, but felt intimidated by its many details?
Then you will really enjoy our next workshop by Denise!
Denise will focus on the techniques for rendering textures in the rocks, leaves, bark, moss and grasses found in nature. She will emphasize close-ups of trees in particular.
Each attendee will be provided with an illustration of a tree and Denise will break down the complex structure of the subject into simplified steps.
Denise exhibits her work in the United States, Canada and England and has won many awards. She is past president of the San Francisco Chapter and is currently the Marketing Director on the National CPSA Board of Directors.

ArtSpectations is an annual online colored pencil art competition hosted by the Colored Pencil Society of America. ArtSpectations has one big difference from other exhibitions hosted by CPSA—there is no “jurying-in” process. Every entry that meets competition eligibility and criteria requirements is accepted and immediately viewable.
Once the entry period ends, a judge reviews all the entries and selects award winners in both a CPSA Signature category and a Non-signature category. This provides an opportunity for all artists to compete against their peers.
ArtSpectations entries remain online until the next annual show entry period begins, so your art is viewable anywhere in the world for up to a year.
