Attendees crafted books from a full sheet of 140lb hot press watercolor paper under the instruction of Betsy Holster. A wide variety of materials for page decoration made for an almost instant gratification experience (compared to Colored Pencil, that is!).
Betsy demonstrated a few variations but emphasized that the possibilities are wide open. Needless to say, a fire was lit and many more books will come to be as a result (cue the Amazon and dedicated Bookmaking supplies sites…). Imagine creating your tailor-made sketchbook, or a book as the foundation of your next Explore This! submission.
This was such a successful event that talks are in the works about having another (possibly a two-day workshop for more in-depth book crafting exploration). Many thanks to Betsy Holster for a day of pure fun – HIGHLY recommended!
